How to Find Great Articles and Stories

In many of my previous posts, I have written about how I use EBSCOhost to find articles and short stories to use with my students. This database has an almost endless supply of wonderful materials. Not only can you find articles for your students, but you can also access professional journal articles.

Now I know many of you are concerned that you cannot access the databases because your school does not have an account. Do not fear! Most public libraries have accounts with EBSCOhost, and you only need a library card to access the databases from the comfort of your own home.

You also may be confused about how to navigate all the databases. There is a lot going on with EBSCOhost, and it can be challenging to know how to find what you want. I thought the best way to explain how to navigate the databases would be through a video. The video is only five minutes long and explains how to get to EBSCOhost, how to login, and how to find the resources you are looking for.

Let me know if you still have any questions. I would love to hear how you are using EBSCOhost. I highly encourage you to check the databases out if you haven't yet!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my page. My kiddies love to hear stories about Leprehcuans for St. Patty's. I even let them pretend to be leprechauns for the day and they have such a great time. =)

  3. Awesome! We don't have EBSCO in the school district anymore (state cut funding) but it is in the public system. I love that you did, this, though. I'm a teacher librarian. ;)
